TYPES OF CANCER

There are more than 100 different types of cancer, and they can affect virtually any part of the body. Cancers are generally named based on the type of cells they originate from and their primary location. Some common types of cancer include:

 

Breast Cancer: Affects the breast tissue, most commonly in women but can occur in men as well.Lung Cancer: Develops in the lungs and is often associated with smoking, although non-smokers can also develop lung cancer.

Colorectal Cancer: Affects the colon or rectum, and includes cancers such as colon cancer and rectal cancer.

Prostate Cancer: Occurs in the prostate, a small gland in men that produces seminal fluid.Ovarian Cancer: Affects the ovaries, which are part of the female reproductive system.

Pancreatic Cancer: Develops in the pancreas, an organ involved in digestion and insulin production.

Leukemia: A group of blood cancers that affect the bone marrow and blood.

Lymphoma: A cancer of the lymphatic system, including Hodgkin lymphoma and non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

Bladder Cancer: Develops in the bladder, the organ that stores urine.

Kidney Cancer: Affects the kidneys, which filter waste from the blood to form urine.

These are just a few examples, and there are many other types of cancer that can affect various organs and tissues in the body. Each type of cancer may have subtypes and variations, making the overall number of cancer types quite extensive.
